How Tenuate works
Tenuate (Diethylpropion) stimulates a certain sections of nerve and brain which lets the body system to increase the heart beat and blood pressure. These two effects in turn make way for suppression of appetite which goes in for a long way towards lowering obesity.

How to take Tenuate
Make it a point to intake Tenuate at least half an hour to an hour before meals. 25m Tenuate should be taken three times a day for immediate release. But if it is for controlled release you should take 75m tablet once a day in midmorning. You should take the last dose at least four hours prior to bedtime. This is a pill which is to be taken orally as a whole. You should not break, crush or chew the tablet while taking it.

Tenuate precautions
As the effects of Tenuate on pregnant women have not been researched it would be better to restrain from the drug during that period. Skip alcohol intake during taking this drug. Do not do any hazardous activities like machine operation or driving during its intake. You should tell your doctor if you have heart or lung problem, diabetes and allergy.

Tenuate side effects
Possible side effects related to the usage of Tenuate are dry mouth, insomnia, restlessness, nervousness, abdominal discomfort, blurred vision, redness of skin, male breast development, bruising, change in sex drive, hair loss, headache, constipation allergy, irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure etc. But most of the time the side effects are mild and of short nature. In case you have serious side effects consult your doctor.

Missed dose of Tenuate
If somehow you miss a dose of Tenuate then take it as early as possible. But if it is afternoon by the time you realise it then skip the missed dose and go for the next scheduled dose at the scheduled time.
